Kyokushin Karate's Sparring Style

Hello Everyone,

In my school in Amesbury one part of my sparring regimen is The Kyokushin style sparring. I do alot of full body conditioning every class with my students, at each rank the level of conditioning increases. I find that this process actually fires up our fighting spirit. I always teach that we are training not to get hit, but if we do take a hit, we are conditioned. When we spar full contact the rules are no one can run away (this is close quarter practice), can't hit the face except for kicks, or wear protective padding. Padded sparring is for when we do hit the face with everything not just kicks. I find this type of sparring helps to slow the game down a bit since no one is panicking about getting punched in the face, just kicked. I also find that it helps to set up a better body defense and is a little more realistic in terms of power and speed when throwing and receiving body blows. What types of sparring do you do in your school?
